Background Information

I'm glad that you're visiting my website. Here I've included some professional and personal background information.

I've been in full-time private practice as a Clinical Psychologist since 1985. Although I enjoy working with a wide range of problems, my primary interest and expertise is focused on the challenges of marriage. For many years a large portion of my practice has been dedicated to marital therapy.

I have been married for forty-three years. My marriage has provided me with abundant opportunities to see, firsthand, the enormous satisfaction and personal growth, as well as the inherent difficulties in the marital experience.

I received a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Houston in 1971, which included a one year internship at The Texas Research Institute for Mental Sciences . Prior to that, I received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from the City College of New York.

Before beginning full-time private practice I was Associate Director of a nationwide Veterans Administration project which focused on the interpersonal aspects of healthcare. I also served as a Research Associate Psychologist at the Houston Veterans Administration Medical Center, publishing articles on various psychological topics in professional journals. I was a Clinical Assistant Professor at both Baylor University College of Medicine and the University of Houston.

I am licensed as a Psychologist in the State of Texas. I am a member of the American Psychological Association with a Division Specialty in Family Psychology and I am a member of the Texas Psychological Association.
